That turned out to be a dead battery, which HAD been functional just minutes prior. Moments later, the next issue cropped up-the blue light on the cable connector had turned off. Bottom line: when using Vista, one must change internet options for IE to NOT have "protected mode" enabled, AND when opening IE, it must be done in "Run in Adminstrator Mode", which is accomplished by right clicking on IE in the Programs list, and choosing that mode on the shortcut menu.įollowing those instructions I tried again to install the driver, and voila, it worked. She paraphrased the info on the vista specific help page. When she came back on she directed to a help option. I outlined the specific problem and she got off the phone for a few moments. ![]() A pleasant gal answered quickly and said that she wasnt all that familar with the Carelink installation but offered to help me out. I know in the past that Carelink support was only given during business hours, but being optimistic I dialed the 1-800-MINIMED line to see if they had expanded tech support. ![]() ![]() Much of the installation proceeded without a hitch until something went haywire with the part that tried to install the USB drivers for the meter. I grabbed the BD meter and cable and gave it a try. Tonight i decided to run Carelink software on my Vista machine, having just found an email from MM that it now works in Vista.
